She could swear that Mumbai had something against her.

First Aziz and Tariq. They... Forget it. It wasn't worth even thinking about.

But no. It wasn't just mental damage that she faced here, but physical as well! Her hand lifted up to her cheek as a reminder. Stitches. That meant even more scars. How bloody brilliant.

She made a note to be more prepared the next time she decided to follow a scream down a dark alley. Oh well. What was done was done. Besides, the lady she helped out was prettier than her anyways. A scar on that face wouldn't have been good. Then again, pretty faces made it so you were more likely to be cornered by drunks in dark alleys. Who had knives.

Jeez. You just couldn't win.

A loud crash jolted Gertie out of her thoughts. It was the sea. Endless blue. Somehow, the view always calmed her and filled her with a sense of contentment that was so hard to find. The setting sun with it's warm, glowing colors made the sea shimmer.

However, she wasn't one to just sit by and watch the sun set. She wanted to be a part of that greatness. Suddenly the pretty sari wasn't as appealing anymore. Still, she didn't want to get it wet. Then a devious, but utterly fun idea struck her.

She leaped into the sea naked as the day she was born with a delighted laugh.

Because Gertie's not the type to just sit around and look at stuff all the time.

After this, she decided to go skinny dipping at all the popular Mumbai beaches when night struck.

There were a couple of mermaid sightings in Mumbai after that.
